Extremely simple and practical mgmt theory: is that possible?
The ideas behind Stoos (and also certain mgmt theories) are great but a bit too theoretical. In real life there is often no time to think or reason about underlying (often theoretical) principles. In real life we almost make all our decisions intuitively. They are almost never based on the adagium: are we following the right principles? In real life we almost make all our decisions intuitively. They are almost never based on the adagium: are we following the right principles? In real life, experts are not always available at the right time and in the right place. So we have to deal with the practical imperfections.
Session goals:
I would like to facilitate an open discussion or brainstorm to validate or invalidate the following statements:
• is possible or feasible to use mgmt theory that is not designed for a perfect, theoretical context but is deliberately designed to handle realistic imperfections
• is management by intuition a realistic alternative to management by principles
Participants: 5-10 ideally
