  Collecting Data to Support Stoosian Ideas

  I am proposing a short session on gathering data to support the Stoosian Ideas. What I am thinking of is data like: * employee satisfaction * companies flexibility * time to market * what kind of working environment is more attractive to workers * number of innovations in Stoosian environment vs. old school * customer satisfaction * and more... Summarized: Getting as much as possible solid data supporting the assumptions ...more »

  I am proposing a short session on gathering data to support the Stoosian Ideas. What I am thinking of is data like:

  * employee satisfaction

  * companies flexibility

  * time to market

  * what kind of working environment is more attractive to workers

  * number of innovations in Stoosian environment vs. old school

  * customer satisfaction

  * and more...

  Summarized: Getting as much as possible solid data supporting the assumptions and promises of the Stoos movement.

  (b)right people for the job

  In a rebuttal to one of Steve Dennings posts, Bruno Collet said on "PM Hut" that "Agile is only for stars", that you need very qualified people to be able to work in an agile fashion. This is an argument I often encounter, when I present agile or stoosian ideas to managers.   This is an argument I often encounter, when I present agile or stoosian ideas to managers. They feel that their employees are either not skilled or bright enough (something Denning addresses http://onforb.es/HQ8i6J) or just don't have the right attitude ("I don't want to have responsibility.").

  I haven't found a good set of arguments against this yet and I'd like to use this session to a) see what opinions others have on this topic and b) create a set of arguments against (or for!) the view that you need bright people in order to able to run projects/companies in a stoosian way.
